By now, news of the proposed Amtrak station in Weldon has reached seemingly every corner of the Roanoke Valley and most everyone sees it as a likely turning point for the historic town. 

“I think it could be a potential good thing as far as the businesses around here,” said Ronald Stanley, a restaurateur in Weldon.

While the project is still in its earliest phases and future possibilities are myriad and hazy, local leadership already has ideas.
