Commuter Trains in Massachusetts To Buzzards Bay Off Track…For Now

A proposed pilot program for extending commuter rail service to Buzzards Bay has been put on hold by the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA). That announcement was made by MBTA general manager Frank DePaolo during a public forum held Thursday night, April 14, at the Bourne Veterans Memorial Community Center.Website Insert Call Me State DOTs copy

Mr. DePaolo told the audience that filled the James A. Mulvey Meeting Room that the MBTA’s fiscal management control board considered the project to be too expensive.

“The board was not willing to give us authorization to move forward,” he said.
