Florida Connection Would Unite All Passenger Rail Lines in Southeast Florida

November 6, 2013

A connection between the two mainline railroads in the Greater Miami area was touted by officials at the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail station. An existing track would be upgraded, permitting trains like today’s Amtrak routes traveling southward on CSX to run along the Florida East Coast Railway toward FEC’s new downtown Miami station; a new connection would be constructed for trains from Tri-Rail’s Miami stations to serve the Space Coast on the FEC line.

Rest of the story — “Officials gather in West Palm Beach to tout rail connections between FEC, Tri-Rail tracks” — in the Palm Beach Post.
