Grant will help build new passenger train station in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The city of Tuscaloosa has received a grant of almost $315,000 to help build a new train station in Alberta.Website Insert Passenger Trains Very Well copy

The funds comes from the Southern Rail Commission, which voted to award the grant on Friday.

City officials announced the award on Tuesday.

“On behalf of our City Council, I want to thank Gov. Robert Bentley and the members of the Alabama delegation of the Southern Railroad Commission for their advocacy of this recovery project,” said Mayor Walt Maddox in a news release announcing the grant.
