Indiana’s Hoosier State Line Has A New Deal And A New Operator

On August 1, 2015 a new Hoosier State train began service from Indianapolis to Chicago starting Sunday morning at 6 a.m.

The deal also calls for INDOT to receive 25 percent of Iowa Pacific’s operating profits for the Hoosier State. The contracts continued through June 30, 2017, with the state having the option to extend the deal up to four additional years. INDOT was negotiating with contractor Corridor Capital to take over the Hoosier State line, but those negotiations ended in November.
