Lawmakers consider pitch for high-speed Boston-Springfield rail line

“We can’t have a … highly functioning commonwealth if certain parts of the state see very high rates of growth and other parts of the state don’t see growth even approaching those levels,” said State Sen. Eric Lesser, D-Longmeadow, who sponsored the bill. “The idea behind the study is to look at how transportation can better connect different areas of growth in our economy, better stitch innovation and education together in different parts of the state.”
