Michigan: Ann Arbor’s long search for new Amtrak site finds ‘no clear winner’ yet

ANN ARBOR, MI – Ann Arbor has decided to try to finish an environmental assessment for a new Amtrak station and simultaneously move forward with preliminary engineering designs for multiple possible sites.

The City Council voted 8-3 Monday night, June 5, to increase the amount of a contract with consultant AECOM, formerly known as URS Corp., to do more work to comply with the Federal Railroad Administration’s requests for additional information and analysis of the different alternatives.
