Michigan: Eighteen extra Thanksgiving season trains from Chicago

Amtrak has announced additional rail service for the Michigan corridor this Thanksgiving season.

Between November 27th and December 2nd, added Wolverine services are to include:

  • 9:20am departure from Chicago, bound for Ann Arbor, Mich., arriving 3pm. (except Nov. 28 and Dec. 2)
  • 10:00pm from Chicago, bound for Kalamazoo at 1:30am. (except Dec. 2)
  • 6:15am from Kalamazoo, arriving Chicago 7:45am (except Nov. 27)
  • 4:05pm from Ann Arbor, arriving Chicago 7:45pm (except Nov. 28 and Dec. 2)

Kalamazoo, for example, will generally be served by five or six trains in each direction over the long Thanksgiving weekend, compared to the usual four: three Wolverines on the Detroit line and the Blue Water to Port Huron.
