Company starts building engines that will power All Aboard Florida

Cummins Inc.,  company that design, manufacture, distribute and service diesel and natural gas engines, announced last week that is has begun production on the engines that are slated to power All Aboard Florida’s locomotives and trainsets.Website Insert Start Here copy

The engine will be delivered to the Siemens manufacturing facility in Sacramento, Calif., where it will be installed into a Charger locomotive, Cummins said in a news release on its website.

The Charger – a diesel-electric passenger locomotive – will be put into service for a five-state, 35-unit initial order with the Departments of Transportation of Illinois, California, Michigan, Missouri and Washington, Cummins said.

The Charger locomotives will also power the trainsets for All Aboard Florida.
