No significant adverse impact from All Aboard Florida, feds say

August 4, 2015

The Federal Railroad Administration has released its final environmental impact statement on All Aboard Florida, concluding that it would have no significant or adverse effects on Treasure Coast communities if proposed mitigation efforts are completed.

In fact, the more than 600-page evaluation says “with respect to transportation, air quality, and economic resources, the project would have beneficial cumulative impacts.”

The report evaluates the potential impacts of Phase II of the express passenger rail project, which includes the stretch of tracks from West Palm Beach to Orlando. A previous environmental impact statement for Phase I of the project paved the way for construction to begin on the rail line’s Miami-to-West Palm portion.
