A word about Senator Durbin from James E. Coston, Chairman, Corridor Capital LLC:

Senator Durbin has been a good friend of ours for many years and a great friend of the American passenger train for decades. His first summer job was as a clerk at the New York Central System’s yard in East St. Louis, where his father was yardmaster. His mother was a telephone operator for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. Light-years ahead of his colleagues on railroad history, technology and economics,he has become the lead proponent for increased federal passenger-train funding – both for Amtrak and state initiatives – in the U.S. Congress.

Dick Durbin also served as the inspiration for the popular TV sitcom “Alpha House,”which is based on the legendary Washington crashpad that Durbin established with his Senate colleague Chuck Schumer of New York and two congressmen. The show currently is running on Amazon Originals.

Durbin, along with the Amtrak Board of Directors Chairman and Macomb’s mayor, discussed expanding Amtrak services in Illinois.…
