South Carolina: CARTA will ask local governments for help funding construction of new bus and train station in North Charleston

CARTA will be asking for financial help from areas cities and counties because it needs about $2 million more than it budgeted for construction of the new train and bus station on Gaynor Avenue, said CARTA board Chairman Mike Seekings.

The alternative to asking for local public funding is to borrow the $2 million from a bank. Seekings said he didn’t know if CARTA could qualify for a loan.
