Tuscaloosa, Alabama seeks money for new train station

They are seeking financial assistance from a 2006 funding allocation that today remains unused.

On Tuesday, the City Council’s public projects committee voted to tentatively select Ellis Architects to design the new station and apply for a grant through the Southern Rail Commission.

After much debate, the committee elected to set aside the full $1.5 million that the City Council already had appropriated for the new train station to use as matching funds for the grant.
