While Winter Storm Jonas devastated airlines and local transit agencies in the Northeast, with consequences felt throughout the country because in the interconnection between airline schedules and plane scheduling, Amtrak continued to operate a limited schedule every day of the storm. Although east cost long distance trains were mostly shut down, passengers traveling between Boston, points in New England, New York and Washington along the Northeast Corridor still had limited passenger train mobility.Website Insert Cars and Financing copy

The news media concentrated primarily on airline and transit passengers, and mostly ignored the availability of passenger train travel. In addition to Amtrak operations, PATCO in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey continued to also operate throughout the storm.
